Tracer™ Staff and Equipment Locating

Tracer is a simple system of sensors and infrared transmitters (Tracer tags). Staff and equipment you want to locate have the Tracer tags and the sensors are flush mounted in ceiling tiles or flush mounted in a wall in coverage areas. One sensor is placed in every room of the coverage area and approximately every twenty feet in hallways.

Staff Locating - Equipment Locating - FAQ

Staff Locating:

  • The staff locating feature allows staff members to easily find one another. It also allows instant communication from the console at the nurses' station the staff member in the patient room. This reduces the need for loud overhead pages and walking room-to-room to locate personnel.

  • Tracer system also adds the "automatic call canceling" feature. When a staff member enters a room, there is no need to cancel the call by reaching over the patient to press cancel at the headwall - the call is automatically canceled when the staff member walks into the room.

  • If Management Software reporting is integrated with the Responder IV system, then staff specific statistics can be generated. For example, average response times for technicians, average response times for a particular person, which staff member helped the patient in the room, etc. This is usually used in order to combat patient complaints and increase the quality of care provided to patients.

Equipment Locating:

  • The equipment tracking allows staff members to find a particular piece of equipment from a touch of a button on the nurse-call console - real time. Which means if you are looking for a wheelchair, and it's in use you can see exactly where it is and where it's going. This eliminates the need for additional rental equipment, because now your staff will be able to find the equipment you already have!

  • Equipment tracking also can prevent theft of equipment. If there are certain exits or areas that equipment should not be near, then an alarm can be initiated if a piece of equipment is taken into an area it doesn't belong or near an exit it shouldn't be. Doors can be locked, camera call-up can be initiated, and personnel called/paged.

  • Asset Tracking software can be added to allow biomedical personnel to schedule periodic maintenance in he software. Then everyday they can pull a list of all equipment needing periodic maintenance and the EXACT real-time location of every piece. This eliminates the need to spend time searching for equipment needing periodic maintenance.

  • Asset Tracking software also allows you to run reports to find out what equipment was in a patient's room, and for how long, for billing purposes.

  • Custom reports can be generated using MS Access® or Crystal Reports®, from the database stored within the Tracer System.
